After a three-month renovation, Jinyi Farm Produce Market in SIP’s Loufeng Sub-district started soft opening on Dec 15 with a brand-new look.
The market came into operation in 2004. According to a source from the company in charge of the renovation project, the sub-district authorities invested RMB 6.5 million to improve the appearance and facilities of the market for the purpose of offering local residents a better place to buy vegetables, fruit and other agricultural products.
The market now has new floors, repainted walls, neatly arranged stalls and a newly added rest zone, and even its drainage system has been upgraded.
Moreover, there is a huge electronic screen on the wall to show the customers real-time information about the products’ prices and sources, and every stall is equipped with an electronic scale for customers to check the products’ prices, pesticide residue content and trading volume. There are also professional property management workers serving in it for routine cleaning and disinfection.
