The new plant built by Suzhou Sirui Electric Co Ltd for the Suzhou branch of Metso Outotec, a Finnish company that provides technology and services for aggregates, mineral processing and metal refining industries, was delivered and put into operation at the same time on Apr 3, becoming the first construction project operationalized immediately after completion in SIP.

Metso Outotec set up the Suzhou plant in SIP in 2008 to develop, assemble and manufacture equipment for mining, metallurgical engineering, energy utilization and environmental protection, and the plant has kept an annual growth of 30. The new plant is expected to enable Metso Outotec to double its output in China and upgrade its products and services for clients.

The project, with the construction permit issued last April, started operation three months ahead of schedule. “This has enabled us to save cost,” said Qiu Chuncai, head of the plant.

It is learned that SIP authorities have put together a work group this year to optimize the administrative review and approval process so that construction projects can come into use immediately after completion.
