Suzhou Industrial Park Enterprise Joint Open Innovation (SIP ENJOI) opened on May 27 as an incubation base for R&D and innovation projects of multinationals and a platform for collaborative innovation of multinationals and local enterprises relying on integrated innovation resources.
A total of 12 world-famous enterprises and organizations have joined the platform of SIP ENJOI.
Karcher, a world’s leading provider of efficient, resource-conserving cleaning systems, will set up an R&D base for development and delivery of customized cleaning solutions, and Dutch multinational conglomerate Philips will set up a global home appliance R&D center for digitalization of home appliances.
Other projects include Hitachi’s technical service center, PwC’s digital transformation operation center, the innovation platform jointly established by Humboldt University of Berlin and InnoEU Tech Bridge, and the alumni innovation center of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
These projects have demonstrated SIP’s strong “magnetic force” to global innovation resources. SIP saw US$ 1.052 billion of foreign investment in actual use and the introduction of 95 projects with registered foreign investment of US$ 2.18 billion in the first four months of the year.
Moreover, thanks to the local authorities’ consistent efforts in investment promotion via telephones and online communication tools as well as continually improved business services, SIP has introduced 85 projects in the second quarter, with investments exceeding RMB 50 billion, showing strong resistance to the negative impact of the global coronavirus pandemic.
