Cainiao, a logistics arm of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, and Delta Logistics, a logistics service supplier in SIP, launched cooperation on Apr 27 in developing a smart system for full supply chain visual management of export goods. The system is expected to help improve logistics efficiency by more than 30%, according to the companies.

“The system will enable real-time tracking of goods during their travel from domestic warehouses to ports and then to overseas warehouses and clients,” said Zhang Xiaofeng, senior manager of Delta Logistics.

The system will mark a milestone in cross-border cargo monitoring and, in addition to ensuring the safety of cargos, it will allow the logistics companies and cargo owners to timely figure out the best transportation and storage solutions according to the actual conditions of the cargos and thereby reduce logistics cost.
