An event was held in SIP on Nov 22 for the purpose of promoting the collaboration between Suzhou and Suqian in developing industrial parks.
Suzhou is located in the southern part of East China’s Jiangsu province, while Suqian in the north of the province. The cities launched a pioneering cooperation mode in 2006 to develop six industrial parks centered in Suzhou-Suqian Industrial Park (SSIP) based on experience drawn from SIP. SSIP, expanded in 2019, has won a list of honors from central and provincial authorities for its fast, prosperous development.
The event included a signing ceremony for 25 projects to be carried out in the industrial parks in Suqian. These projects are expected to fuel the boom of the industries of new energy and new materials, high-end equipment manufacturing, electronic information, biotechnology and medical devices.
The award ceremony of the 2024 “Suzhou-Suqian Joint Development of Industrial Parks” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest was held. The contest, launched in June, attracted about 100 projects, of which 20 gained entry to the final and 13 won the awards.
