Soochow University, a well-known Chinese comprehensive university with its Dushu Lake Campus built in SIP in 2004, and Massey University, a prestigious public educational institution in New Zealand, signed an agreement on Oct 23 to launch cooperation in talent cultivation, academic research, interactions between teachers and students, and other aspects.
Wu Jiawei, vice president of Soochow University expressed thanks to Suzhou Dushu Lake Sci-Edu Innovation District for its support for the cooperation, which she hoped could help promote exchanges and cooperation between China and New Zealand in such fields as education and sci-tech development.
Dr. Tere McGonagle-Daly, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Students & Global Engagement at Massey University, said Massey University had been in partnership with SIP since 2019 and expected to expand the cooperation to more fields.
Chen Miao, deputy director of the Administrative Committee of Suzhou Dushu Lake Sci-Edu Innovation District, congratulated on the tie-up of the universities, hoping it would help accelerate SIP’s development toward an open and innovative world-class high-tech park.
After the signing ceremony, the delegation from Massey University toured around the Soochow University Dushu Lake Campus, and attended the meeting with the representatives from the School of Art of Soochow University.
