The Bank of Suzhou • Suzhou 2024 Marathon kicked off in SIP on Apr 14, attracting 25,000 runners.
The event consisted of three races, namely a marathon, a half marathon and a mini marathon, which started at the same place but ended at different destinations.
The routes were elaborately designed so that the runners passed by the most prosperous areas in SIP. Among the landmarks along the routes are commercial complexes such as Suzhou Center and cultural and sports facilities such as Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre and Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre.
Many catering service brands such as those at Suzhou Eslite Bookstore, Harmony Times Square and old Xietang Street provided discount packages for all the customers and tailored ones for the runners.
Besides, the runners could enjoy a boat ride to the Peach Blossom Island in Jinji Lake – where the 7th Jinji Lake Peach Flower Festival is underway – and a night cruise tour on Jinji Lake at favorable prices.
The participants of the event also had the chances to watch diverse performances including concerts, stage plays and magic shows, and enjoy amazing exhibits at the museums and galleries around Jinji Lake.
Apart from that, of the 19 hotels in SIP that provided services for the event, 13 provided special breakfast for the runners, and 17 extended the check-out time. Several hotels provided special traffic services.
It is worth mentioning that LY.com, an online tourist service company, launched a special module on its platform to provide the participants with assistance in getting information about the event, lodging and catering services, train and air tickets and tourist destinations.
