NUS (Suzhou) Research Institute (NUSRI), a research arm of National University of Singapore (NUS) in SIP, plays a leading role in innovations in SIP. Since its establishment in 2010, NUSRI has incubated 120-plus innovative businesses which have raised funds totaling RMB2.7 billion. It has offered these businesses full support in commercializing the outcomes of their R&D projects.
A hollow fiber nanofiltration membrane featuring filament with a radius of less than 0.6 millimeter is being developed at NUSRI. It can be used in household water purifiers and industrial wastewater treatment equipment to remove a wide range of harmful particles.
Another R&D team at NUSRI is working on a plant protein-enriched scaffold for cultivated meat development. Remarkable progress has been made, and a start-up will be founded soon.
Under another project, the researchers are trying to improve the efficiency of R&D of new materials through an AI-based intelligent catalyst selection and development platform.
