On Jan 13, the members of the SIP delegation to the fourth session of the 17th Suzhou People’s Congress attended the discussion revolving around the 2025 government work report made by the mayor of Suzhou the day before. In the process, they shared work plans and offered suggestions for high-quality development of the city.
Wu Hong, deputy secretary of the CPC SIP Working Committee and director of SIP Administrative Committee, declared SIP’s goals for this year, saying that SIP aims to increase the local GDP to RMB400 billion and retain the top spot in the country’s comprehensive evaluation of state-level economic and technological development zones for the tenth consecutive year.
Hu Xing’an, secretary of the CPC committee and president of Bank of China Suzhou Branch, said the bank would improve loan services and enhance risk control for foreign investment and trade.
Mao Bin, secretary of the CPC committee and president of Bank of Communications Suzhou Branch, said the Bank of Communications would continuously promote innovation of its products to support local development.
Cong Xiaodong, secretary of the CPC committee and president of Suzhou Branch of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, said the Suzhou Branch would strengthen efforts to help boost consumption and improve loan services.
Fan Li, secretary of the CPC committee and chairman of Soochow Securities, suggested SIP take a series of measures such as enhancing support for equity and credit financing to provide better guarantee for development of businesses, and also enhance support for service-oriented consumption.
Li Shunfeng, executive director of Everbright Institute of Semiconductor Photonics Co Ltd, offered suggestions for exploring consumer demand, improving scientific and technological innovation capability, overcoming key problems in industries and developing AI technology.
Ji Zengxiang, director of R&D Center of Sinoma Science & Technology (Suzhou) Co Ltd, provided suggestions on collaborative innovation between correlated industries.
