The Yiwei Pavilion in SIP’s Weiting Sub-district, a protected historical and cultural site of Suzhou, underwent a two-month repair starting from last August, and has passed the expert evaluation of the results.
The pavilion was built in the Song Dynasty (960-1279). It houses two steles with inscriptions about two events of river regulation in ancient times.
The project focused on repairing the damaged parts with materials and techniques exactly the same as those used when the pavilion was built, rebuilding the surrounding walls and gates, and improving the surrounding landscapes.
