The Administrative Committee of SIP High-end Manufacturing and International Trade Zone and SIP Customs Business Management Division jointly convened a meeting on July 23 with 11 enterprises in the local comprehensive bonded area, hoping to give them a helping hand in AEO (authorized economic operator) certification.

AEO is defined by the World Customs Organization (WCO) as “a party involved in the international movement of goods, in whatever function, that has been approved by, or on behalf of, a national Customs administration as complying with WCO or equivalent supply chain security standards”. International trade players identified as AEOs can save both time and costs by avoiding some cumbersome customs inspections.
At the event, the enterprise representatives expressed their willingness to become an AEO, and inquired about related issues. The staff from the customs office answered their inquiries, and expounded on the latest AEO policies and application procedures.
