Yang Yue, member of the Standing Committee and head of United Front Work Department of CPC Jiangsu Committee, and his contingent visited SIP on July 17 for a survey on local authorities’ work related to overseas Chinese and returnees.

The officials first visited Nanopolis Suzhou, a nanotech cluster with over 120 overseas returnees. They had a tour around the local exhibition hall and an overseas Chinese service organization to learn about introduction of overseas high-level talents and services for their living and work in the area.

The survey team then visited NanoMicro, a microspheres company founded by Dr. Jiang Biwang, a Chinese American. At the company, they gained a better understanding of its core technologies, staple products and operations, and encouraged it to give full play to its technical advantages to seek stronger development.

The next station was the Overseas Returnees’ Home at Dushu Lake Science & Education Innovation Zone, where the officials learnt details about the organizations’ facilities and services for overseas returnees.

In the last leg, the officials visited the biopharmaceutical company Alphamab Oncology and had a conversation with its founder Dr. Xu Ting, who had worked in several US organizations as a researcher for over 10 years before he founded the company in SIP. In the process, the officials acquired a good knowledge of the company’s conditions and encouraged it to enhance independent innovation and international cooperation to strive for better development.
