SIP High-end Manufacturing and International Trade Zone (SIP-HMITZ) recently saw new progress in transforming urban industrial land development mode to improve land use efficiency.

With the help from SIP-HMITZ authorities, Suzhou Industrial Park Heat Treatment Equipment Factory Co Ltd received the construction permit in February to renovate its facilities on an about 30-mu (2-hectare) piece of land that was declared a low-efficiency land plot in 2021. As planned, part of the old facilities have been dismantled, and the new ones were roofed recently.

The retained part is stilled used by the company, and the new buildings will be used by the manufacturing enterprise established by the company in collaboration with HISAKA Mechatronic (Suzhou) Co Ltd to make products for infrared communication, computer simulation, image recognition, industrial robot, precision machining, etc.

After the renovation, the total floor area of the buildings on the land plot will reach 24,474.51 square meters, and the plot ratio will increase from 0.56 to 1.42. The expanded production is expected to bring jobs to 150 people, and the figure may reach 300 five years later. The per capital output value will exceed RMB800,000, and the tax contribution per mu will be six times that before.
