On Apr 18, a cargo drone carrying electronic parts and components left the warehouse of Delta Logistics in SIP’s comprehensive bonded area for the warehouse of the cargo owner in the trade function zone in the area, during which it stopped at SIP Customs Supervision Center for five minutes for the cargoes to be inspected and released.

Compared with traditional transportation modes, the use of the unmanned aerial vehicle for the delivery of the cargoes has allowed the operating cost to be reduced by 90% and the delivery duration shortened by 75%. Furthermore, it has blazed a trail in Suzhou for integrated use of UAV and intelligent technology to improve logistics efficiency for economic benefits.

According to Lu Yuan, deputy secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee and deputy director of SIP Administrative Committee, SIP is making great efforts to develop low-altitude economy which covers a wide range of industries focused on both manned and unmanned civil aerial vehicles, and has gathered over 100 enterprises engaged in related industries.
