The Women’s Federation of SIP’s Weiting Sub-district recently organized a series of events in collaboration with several communities to mark the World Book Day which, also known as World Book and Copyright Day, is celebrated annually on Apr 23 across the world to promote reading, publishing and copyright.
The event in Chengwan Community offered the participants a chance to exchange old books for vegetable, encouraging people to share books with others and embrace eco-friendly lifestyles.
A book donation was held in Xinhe Community, where residents donated books to the community library and received flowers in return.
In the event in Kuatang Community, the volunteer gave a team of children and teenagers an introduction to the World Book Day and guided them to share their favorite books. The participants then read books together, and received free books as gifts.
