Oxford Suzhou Centre for Advanced Research (OSCAR), Oxford’s first overseas physical science and engineering research arm that opened in SIP’s Dushu Lake Science & Education Innovation Zone in 2018, recently hosted an open day in collaboration with SIP Enterprise Development Service Center and British Consulate General in Shanghai. At the event, OSCAR introduced over 100 online and onsite participants to seven projects designed to develop advanced chemical and biological technologies, hoping to find partners to jointly advance these projects.

Mark Moloney, deputy director of OSCAR, and Stephen Brennan, consul for science & innovation at British Consulate General in Shanghai, addressed the event, both hoping that OSCAR could continue helping promote Sino-British cooperation in science and technology innovation.

Stephen Brennan also delivered a keynote speech where he gave a summary of the Sino-British cooperation from the 17th century onwards, laying emphasis on the collaboration in chemistry, biology and epidemic prevention in the recent two years.

In the project roadshow, seven teams presented their projects to the participants, covering their core technology, main business, market prospect and expectations for future partners. Their presentations received positive response.
