The Department of Industry and Information Technology of East China’s Jiangsu province recently released the list of five “Pilot Areas for High-quality Development of IoV and ICVs in Jiangsu Province” for public consultation. SIP is on the list.
SIP began to implement a plan in 2017 to boost industrialized development of Internet of vehicles (IoV) and intelligent connected vehicles (ICVs), and became one of Jiangsu’s first “Frontrunners in IoV Development” in 2019. Besides, SIP partook in the National Development and Reform Commission’s “5G-based IoV Testing and Application in Suzhou” in 2020, and was nominated to the list of “Pilot Sites for Pioneering Application of Automatic Driving and Smart Shipping” of the Ministry of Transport this year.
It is learnt that SIP is now home to 80-plus enterprises engaged in ICVs, with a total output value of more than RMB 10 billion, accounting for one third of the total of Suzhou, and also a number of enterprises providing related technical support.
