Dutch multinational conglomerate Philips opened a domestic appliances R&D center in SIP on Sept 21, counting on it to accelerate its technology innovation for smart homes.
The R&D center, with an investment of RMB 500 million, is focused on developing and industrialize robotic, Internet of Things, AI and other advanced technologies that can make homes more convenient and make life easier.
The R&D center plans to recruit 300 professionals for R&D, and hopes to help Philips expand its smart domestic appliance lineup to cover home security devices, service robots and other products.
