The 13th Suzhou Jinji Lake Half Marathon kicked off on the bank of Jinji Lake in SIP on Mar 10, when 30,000 people ran along three elaborately designed routes with surprises all the way through.

There were a variety of performances on site, including Jazz dance, cheerleading dance, hip-pop dance, etc.

There was also a show of traditional Chinese costumes, which showcased the charm of traditional Chinese clothing.

The runners and the spectators also had the chance to appreciate 18 sculptures on the banks of Jinji Lake, each with a story that can be listened to on the “Cultural Cloud” program on WeChat.

A number of audio channels offering news, talk shows, opinions and music were available, too.

The Archaeological Site Park of Caoxieshan hosted an event where people could draw rapeseed flowers as a token of support for the runners.
