The13th Suzhou Jinji Lake Half Marathon scheduled on Mar 10 is one of the most anticipated events in SIP, because it will offer far more than just the excitement of 30,000 people competing in running on the banks of Jinji Lake.
The route of the event has been elaborately designed so that the runners will pass by a number of local landmarks, enjoying wonderful scenery all the way through.
The participants of the event can take some time to experience the prosperous business on the west bank of Jinji Lake, shopping in Suzhou Center Mall, one of the biggest shopping centers in Suzhou, enjoying the audio-visual shows at Jinji Lake Music Fountain, or sampling local or exotic food.
The east bank of the lake is more culturally rich and artistic. There are the Suzhou Eslite Bookstore, the about 500-meter Sky Screen and many art displays.
During the Suzhou Jinji Lake Half Marathon, a list of art performances and art exhibitions will go on, such as the new version of the classic ballet Swan Lake by Suzhou Ballet Theatre and the watercolor exhibition at Ming Gallery of Art.
In addition, 35 hotels will provide packages for budget accommodations to participants of the event.
