Suzhou Industrial Park-Xiangcheng District Cooperative Economic Development Zone (hereinafter referred to as the Zone) is witnessing a busy construction season which is accelerating the shaping of the local characteristic industrial systems of new-generation information technology, new energy and aerospace.

As an emerging zone focused on manufacturing, the Zone follows in the footsteps of SIP to give its top priority to introducing and supporting projects with the aim of giving full play to its industrial advantages to promote high-quality economic development.

So far this year, the Zone has recorded 40 major projects, which had all been launched by the third quarter, with the construction speed record continuously refreshed. Several of the projects come from SIP.
     
Bafang New Energy (Suzhou) Co Ltd
Bafang New Energy (Suzhou) Co Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bafang, one of the leading manufacturers of e-mobility components and complete e-drive systems, was set up in the Zone in March 2021. It is building a project which will be used as the manufacturing and operation base by it and another company for development of motors and control systems for e-bikes as well as production of batteries, motors and mechanical and electrical equipment.

The project covers a land area of about 100 mu (over 66,000 square meters), and the total floor area will reach about 180,000 square meters. The first phase will be completed in December, and put into production early next year, with an estimated annual output value of 1.5billion yuan.

3E· Digital Intelligent Manufacturing Park
The 3E· Digital Intelligent Manufacturing Park, invested and built by Suzhou Yuande Economic Development Co Ltd, a subsidiary of SIP-based real estate company Suzhou Industrial Park Urban Renovation & Development Co Ltd, consists of three parts.

The first and second phases of the project have been completed. The third phase, covering a land area of about 158 mu (over 105,000 square meters), opened on Nov 8. It encompasses both single-storey and multi-storey workshop buildings for manufacturing of products in the sectors of new energy, aerospace and new-generation information technology.

Hanteng high-end new energy equipment manufacturing project
The project serves as the East China manufacturing base of Suzhou Harmontronics Automation Technology Co Ltd, an SIP-based company providing one-stop intelligent manufacturing solutions. The construction started in July, and is scheduled to complete next December. The total investment is estimated to reach RMB1 billion.

With a land area of 119 mu (over 79,000 square meters), the project will be dedicated to developing and manufacturing products for the new-energy vehicle industry.

Caohu Business Center
The underground part of the project is being built, and the placement of concrete is expected to complete in late December.

As the first super high-rise project in the Zone, the project, with a total floor area of about 210,000 square meters, will house a five-star hotel, a large convention center, a fitness center, serviced apartments and stores.

The project is scheduled to be completed in late 2025. It will become a new landmark of the Zone.

Radici Plastics (Suzhou) Co Ltd
Radici Plastics (Suzhou) Co Ltd is the only branch of Italian polyamide, synthetic fibers and performance plastics manufacturer RadiciGroup in China. It moved from SIP to the Zone early this year. With the new laboratories and well-equipped workshops, it is the biggest and most productive one of eight RadiciGroup factories worldwide.

The company is developing a high-tech new materials project integrating R&D, production and marketing functions with the aim of better serving the engineering polymers market and fueling the development of the new materials industry in the Zone.

Daifuku Automatic Conveying Equipment (Suzhou) Co Ltd
Daifuku Automatic Conveying Equipment (Suzhou) Co Ltd, a branch of Daifuku Co Ltd, a Japanese manufacturer of material handling equipment, was founded in Suzhou in 2012, and inaugurated a new factory in the Zone in September this year.

The new factory, with a total floor area of about 37,000 square meters, has cleanroom workshops on two floors for production of automatic handling equipment, logistics equipment, control devices and automatic control systems for the liquid-crystalline semiconductors industry.
