The 2017 China "Suyi Cup" International Applied Arts Expo cum 10th China "Zigang Cup" Jade Carvings Exhibition opened at Suzhou International Expo Centre, SIP, on Nov 17 and will last till Nov 20.
The event, jointly sponsored by China Arts and Crafts Association, China Cultural Industry Association and several local departments, is designed to offer a platform for professionals from related industries to exchange experience and learn from each other.
The expo consists of seven exhibition areas, with a total area of 18,000 sqm, displaying more than 10,000 applied art works from over 300 masters in applied arts, representative intangible cultural heritage inheritors, tens of overseas artists and more than 1,000 enterprises and studios. Additionally, several forums on jade carvings and applied arts will take place concurrently.
Statistics indicate that Suzhou now boasts more than 6,000 enterprises engaged in manufacturing and marketing of applied art products, with 150,000 employees and total annual sales of about RMB 20 billion. The event is expected to drive the enterprises to make innovation for more vigorous development.
