Suzhou Industrial Park held a meeting on March 4 on organizational reform and work style building, at which official circular on organizational reform was announced and adjustment made concerning changes in personnel appointment and removal. It was decided at the meeting that functional departments like publicity department, the department of united front, and market supervision bureau are to be set up, and improvement to be made in the setup of Party and mass organizations under the simple, uniform, and efficient version of the new mode of local government administration.
The transformation of government functions and reform of government structures in SIP are an active response to the important decisions of the central, provincial, and municipal authorities, as well as necessity for deepening reform. The setup of publicity department, department of united front, and market supervision bureau is an important means to improve the organizational structure of Party and mass organizations so as to exercise strict Party governance, which is an important measure and part and parcel of the comprehensive experimentation in opening up and innovation.
