On the morning of December 20, Suzhou Industrial Park officials went to Loufeng, Xietang, Weiting and Shengpu Sub-districts on the "Communicating Day" to hear the comments and suggestions of representatives of residents, community workers and businesses. The leaders of the official group included Wang Xiang, Standing Committee Member of CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee, and Yang Zhiping, Deputy Secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee and Director of SIP Administrative Committee.
At Weiting, the resident representatives raised questions on parking management, environment improvement, community facility and property management. A resident representative Li said that there were no toilets around Qing Jianhu neighborhood. Wang Xiang said that he would urge departments concerned to work out solutions as soon as possible.
At Xietang, resident representatives raised a total of 11 questions related to environment improvement, education, health care, parking management, public transport and so on. A resident representative Mr. Gu said that the eastern side of the river bank in north part of Lianxiang Community is in poor condition. Yang Zhiping required that the street committee should make an investigation and solve the problem quickly.
At Shengpu, Chief Feng Jianlin of SIP Organization & Personnel Bureau and resident representatives exchanged views on environment improvement, parking management, public transport, and community facility.
At Loufeng, Director Yao Wenlei of SIP Publicity (Spiritual Civilization) Office and resident representatives discussed issues like community facility, property management, parking management, labor and social security and other issues. Resident representatives suggested that traffic lights be reset at Dushu Lake Avenue and Tongyuan Avenue crossroad. Yao said that many factors should be considered about the resetting of traffic lights. Residents' opinions will be well reconsidered for reasonable solution.
The "Communicating Day" activity has been held 20 times at the sub-district (CPC community working committee) level and 660 times at the community level, which totaled up to 680 times. In the activity, more than 3,200 representatives of residents and businesses took part. Over 1,340 opinions and suggestions were responded to on the spot, and 1,264 were forwarded to relevant departments for solutions.
