The Immersive Art Exhibition of Matisse themed “Calmness after Wildness”, featuring the works by Henri Matisse, opened at the Ui ART Center, SIP on June 21, and will last till May 10, 2026.

Henri Matisse, one of the most influential artists of the 20th century and the leader of the Fauves group, is noted for his bold colors, expressive brushwork, and innovative paper cut-outs.

Utilizing cutting-edge technology such as holographic projections, UE scene reconstruction and particle effects, the exhibition transforms Matisse’s iconic works into a multi-sensory experience.

As an outcome of the cooperation between Ui ART Center and Sipa China, the exhibition features five theme spaces.

“The Magic Studio” shows the creation of the masterpiece “Goldfish” via 3D animation, allowing visitors to experience the healing power of Matisse’s colors.

The “Particle Ocean” corridor interprets the Fauvist color philosophy through dynamic chromatic spectra.

The semicircular space uses 3D navigation technology to retrace Matisse’s travels, while the 900-square-meter light-and-shadow hall brings new life to the works like “Dance” and “The Red Studio” through holographic screens and 360°projections.

The interactive space invites visitors to explore the differences and joys of Eastern and Western paper-cutting.
