The Suyi Show Zone, a cluster of performing venues, was inaugurated in SIP on Dec 17.
Jointly developed by New Era Group, an SIP-based cultural, sports and exhibition business operator, and Suzhou Cultural Investment and Development Group, a cultural industry development solution supplier in Suzhou, the Suyi Show Zone consists of the Grand Theatre, Dadao Comedy Theatre, Jinji Lake Concert Hall and Ying Theater of Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre (SZCAC), as well as eight new performing spaces.
The zone plans to offer more than 3,000 performances throughout the year, including pingtan (storytelling and ballad singing in Suzhou dialect) performances, cross-talks, talk shows, conjuring and so on.
It is learnt that the two companies will also promote a tourist route which allows tourists to watch operas while enjoying a boat tour around Jinji Lake.
