The 2024 “Looking for Book Selectors” campaign kicked off in SIP on June 28 and will last till July 20 to encourage the public to select and recommend books to others.
The “Looking for Book Selectors” campaign was jointly initiated by the Publicity Department and the United Front Work Department of CPC SIP Working Committee, Suzhou Eslite Bookstore, Zhongshuge Bookstore and several other organizations in 2022 for the purpose of encouraging reading and disseminating knowledge among the public.
This year’s campaign includes a series of book exhibitions at libraries and bookstores where the participants can borrow books, read them, and select those they want to recommend to others.
The exhibitions are paired with various activities such as meetings with famous writers, which have attracted lots of people.
The Reading Bus is in service to take books closer to readers and take readers to the activities.
Concurrently, an online campaign is going on to collect book reviews from the public.
It is worth mentioning that the “Open Microphone” activity is going on at the same time for “book selectors” to recommend the books they have selected by reading part of them, giving introductions to them or sharing their feelings about reading them.
