The Broadway musical “The Sound of Music” is set to be staged at Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre (SZCAC), SIP from Feb 28 to Mar 4, with eight performances in a row.
As one of the most popular Broadway musicals in the international marketplace, The Sound of Music was premiered in New York, the United States, in 1959, and has won a list of international music awards.
The Sound of Music to be staged at SZCAC is the version directed by the three-time Tony Award winning director Jack O'Brien for the North America tour, which boasts deep-going relations between the characters and highlighted humanity.
It is worth mentioning that, during their stay in SIP, the little performers from the show will visit the local Kunqu opera institute to learn about the traditional Chinese opera genre, and some audiences will be invited to visit the back stage.
