The 9th Chinese University Students’ Pastel Exhibition, jointly sponsored by the Organizing Committee of Chinese University Students’ Pastel Exhibition and Suzhou Artists Association, opened in Ming Gallery of Art, SIP on Aug 19, and will last till Sept 17. On display are 90 pastels by students in universities and colleges across the country.
The Chinese University Students’ Pastel Exhibition is held annually since 2014, and so far more than 6,000 people have sent in their works. This year’s event attracted 808 entries from 194 schools, including portraits, landscape paintings and still life paintings. After expert evaluation, 90 works gained entry to the exhibition.
It is worth mentioning that the two-day “2023 Pastel Painting Training Program” was held concurrently, offering a number of young pastel painters an opportunity to learn painting skills from several renowned artists.
