The “Dedication to the Journey” concert of Suzhou Symphony Orchestra (SZS) was recently selected one of 12 entries to this year’s National Excellent Symphony Works Performance by the Arts Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT) of China after a nationwide evaluation. It is the only work from East China’s Jiangsu province.
The concert comprises a list of songs created by six renowned composers Cui Bingyuan, Quan Jihao, Chen Qiangbin, Tian Tian, Li Bochan and Huang Kairan to depict culture of Suzhou and the development of the city and the country in the recent decades.
The concert will be staged at the Harbin Grand Theater on Aug 18 as the 15th National Vocal Music Exhibition cum National Excellent Symphony Works Performance is going on in Harbin, capital of Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, at present. Zhu Qiyuan, a renowned Chinese conductor, will lead the performance.
