The 2023 “Look for Book Selectors” campaign was launched at Suzhou Eslite Bookstore, SIP on June 21. Citizens in Suzhou can borrow books from Suzhou Eslite Bookstore, Zhongshuge Bookstore and SIP Library free of charge over the following two weeks to select books for SIP Library.
The “Look for Book Selectors” campaign was initiated last year in an effort to encourage reading and disseminate knowledge.
This year’s event is paired with a book exhibition and a series of reading activities. In a reading session following the launching ceremony, Liang Yong’an, a professor who teaches Chinese at Fudan University, gave the participants a talk on literature and films.
The Urban Reading Partners Plan was launched concurrently. SIP Public Cultural Center and a number of publishing agencies, bookstores, famous writers and cultural media will cooperate in organizing a series of activities about writing and reading.
Additionally, SIP Library and a local radio program jointly launched a special program where books and articles are shared via radio every week, while online book review activities are underway at the same time.
