SIP’s Jinji Lake Sub-district recently saw a diversity of events designed to usher in the International Women’s Day (IWD) that will fall on Mar 8. These events offered many female residents good opportunities to enhance interaction with each other and learn new skills.

Langke Community hosted a DIY event where the participants learnt to braid colored cords into bracelets.

Xinyue Community also hosted a DIY event where the participants made table lamps with lampshades decorated with pressed flowers.

In the event in Shuixiang Community, over 20 residents drew oil paintings following the teacher’s demonstration and instruction.

In the event in Jiacheng Community, the participants learnt to arrange flowers in a vase.

In the event in Hupan Tiancheng Community, the participants made leather cell phone purses.

The event in Qiongjidun Community offered the participants a chance to learn about cloisonne, an ancient technique used to decorate metal objects or ceramics, and use it to make brooches.

Xinggui Community launched a public class program to offer a lecture on watercolour to local residents every week.
