The contemporary art exhibition themed “Sensuous Suzhou: An Art Specimen of Local Modernity” opened at Jinji Lake Art Museum, SIP on Oct 31, and will last till Feb 13, 2022.
Jointly sponsored by the Publicity Department and the United Front Work Department of CPC SIP Working Committee and SIP Federation of Literature and Art Circles, the exhibition gathers 108 artworks including photos, videos, sculptures, installations and paintings from 17 artists who have been engaged in contemporary art creation in Suzhou since the 1980s.
The exhibits, on display in four pavilions, give a holistic picture of the development of contemporary art in Suzhou over the past decades, and reflect the artists’ pursuit of art in different forms.
