SIP Economic Development Committee and SIP No. 2 Experimental Primary School jointly organized a tour on Oct 24 when a number of pupils from the school and their parents visited Putian Eco-agriculture Park to learn more about crops and farming.
At the eco-agriculture park, the youngsters watched the processes of manual and machine-based rice harvesting and processing, made scarecrows, drew paintings on food saving, and tasted steamed rice cooked with newly harvested rice.
In the process, they also gained a good knowledge of crops, farming and food processing from the guide’s introductions. They said they will cherish food and help reduce food waste in the future.
