Considering that Chinese have the tradition to fly kites in spring as a token of good wishes for the future, several communities in SIP’s Hudong sub-district recently organized events to offer local kids chances to paint and fly kites together with their parents and acquire a better understanding of traditional culture related to kites.
In the events, following the volunteers’ instructions and demonstration, the participating kids and their parents drew various pictures on the blank kites given to them, learnt knowledge about the origin of kites and related traditions, and then tried to fly their kites.
