SIP authorities unveiled SIP’s New Measures for Bettering Services for Foreign Talents on Feb 19, putting 19 measures into practice to upgrade services for foreign talents. Under the measures, three services are the first of their kinds nationwide and ten are pioneering province-wide.
Statistics show that Suzhou, one of the “Top 10 Most Attractive Chinese Cities for Foreigners”, has thus far recorded more than 20,000 long-term residents from other countries and regions, while half of them live in SIP. SIP authorities therefore have been optimizing their services to help these foreign residents get used to local life and attract more talents from overseas.
For this, SIP authorities last year opened a specialized service outlet for high-caliber foreign talents, and took the lead nationwide to release a catalogue for more efficient professional qualification authentication for foreign talents. This helped attract 318 high-caliber foreign talents to SIP last year.
The new measures will promote the formation of a more open global talent cooperation mechanism by simplifying administrative procedures and loosening up restrictions for professional qualification authentication and offering foreign talents privileges in applying for work permit and other affairs related to their work and living in SIP.
