The authorities of SIP’s Zhangjing Community recently joined hands with SIP News Center to show care and love for a number of veterans who served in the War to Resist America and Aid Vietnam (1964-1973) by subscribing for two newspapers for them. Their representatives gave the subscription cards to the veterans on Dec 11. With the cards, the veterans can read Suzhou Daily and JN Times online for a year.
Taking the chance, the community’s officials also gave the veterans an introduction to the community’s governance and sought their suggestions on projects concerning local people’s livelihood. The veterans offered constructive advice on related issues, and shared stories about the war.
