SIP Azalea Students Assistance Federation (SIP-ASAF), an SIP-based charity engaged in helping students in need of help in schooling, recently joined hands with Wuxi-based cable manufacturer Huamei to show care and love to poverty-stricken students in Houchang Town, Weng’an county, Southwest China’s Guizhou province.

In the event, the representatives from SIP-ASAF and the company visited No. 2 Houchang Primary School. The company donated multimedia devices worth more than RMB 90,000 to the school.

The representatives also visited an outstanding but financially challenged student and her family in a village in the town. After learning details about their conditions, Jin Bin, honorary chairman of SIP-ASAF, and an entrepreneur gave financial aid to the student. They also encouraged the girl to study hard for a good future.

It is learnt that the establishment of SIP-ASAF has its root in Weng’an county. Jin and his partners visited the county in 2009 and learnt the conditions of local poverty-stricken families from a local public servant whom they made acquaintance with during the tour. After a visit to several of the families, they decided to make donations to them. The charity was founded the same year and since then has offered financial aid of more than RMB 16 million to 783 students in Guizhou and several other provinces and Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
