“Many Suzhou-based enterprises in the optical communication sector reported an output value increase of 50% in the first half of the year,” Zhou Quan, deputy general manager of SIP-based Centec Networks (Suzhou) Co Ltd and deputy secretary general of SIP Optical Communication Industrial Alliance Associates (SIPOCIA), said at the forum on optical communications on Aug 14. The event was part of the 2020 Global AI Product and Application Expo (AI Expo) held in SIP from Aug 14 to 16.
Ou Yang, a council member at SIPOCIA and general manager of TFT, an optical and electrical communication product manufacturer, gave the attendees a specific introduction to the development of the optical communication industry in SIP. He said that, driven by the fast deployment of 5G network across the country and the surging demands for online communication due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SIP has seen a boom of the optical communication industry.
Ding Hai, deputy general manager of Inno Light Science & Technology Co Ltd, a domestically leading supplier of optical communication devices, believed that SIP provides good conditions for the development of optical communication industry.
