The Safety Supervision and Environmental Law Enforcement Office of SIP’s Dushu Lake Science & Education Innovation Zone (DLSEIZ) and SIP Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Association jointly organized a salon session on Aug 4, giving over 30 DLSEIZ-based biomedicine companies a helping hand in ensuring eco-friendly operations.
At the beginning, an official from SIP Land Resources and Environmental Protection Bureau gave the enterprise representatives a specific introduction to a series of policies that SIP authorities announced in April for the purpose of improving efficiency of administrative review of environmental impact assessment (EIA) documents, optimizing environmental resource allocation and enhancing supervision over ecological environment.
After that, an official from DLSEIZ Security and Environmental Protection Brigade expounded on environmental protection laws and regulations and related illegal acts to the enterprise representatives, and an EIA expert answered their inquiries about such issues as EIA review, application for pollutant discharge permit and hazardous waste management. The participants also discussed measures that companies can use for environmental protection.
DLSEIZ authorities disclosed that they will continue to organize events of the kind to provide guidance for local biomedicine enterprises’ environmental management.
