The finals of the 12th SIP Highly Skilled Talents’ Competition cum 4th Jinji Lake Skills Invitational -- “BioTOP & Agilent Cup” National Biomedical Chromatogram Analyzing Skill Challenge kicked off on Mar 3. Concurrently, the Chromatography Summit was held at Worldhotel Grand Dushulake Suzhou, SIP.
The event is jointly sponsored by SIP Administrative Committee, Suzhou Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and Suzhou Federation of Trade Unions. Suzhou BioTOP Technical Service Co Ltd, a biotech company in SIP, is a co-organizer, and Agilent Technologies China, the Beijing branch of American laboratory supplies and solutions provider Agilent Technologies, and SIP Biomedical Industry Promotion Association provide support for it.
It is reported that 1,369 people from 28 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) partook in the preliminaries and semi-finals in the open group or the college students’ group, and 20 in each group advanced to the finals.
The Chromatography Summit brought together a host of experts and professionals including Prof. Xu Guowang, executive deputy director of the Biotechnology Department of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Yuan Yaozuo, director of Assay Technique Research Office of Jiangsu Institute for Food and Drug Control, Hu Chi, associate professor and doctoral supervisor at China Pharmaceutical University, and Hu Wenwen, engineer at Agilent, who shared their expertise with the participants.
