Many SIP-based enterprises offered hefty bonuses and gifts to their employees for their extra work during the Chinese New Year holiday from Jan 31 to Feb 6 and their punctual attendance after the holiday. These incentives seem quite effective in preventing the labor shortage that often happens around the Chinese New Year holiday when many workers tend to return to their hometowns and not return to their jobs.
It is learnt that SIP announced a series of policies before the Chinese New Year holiday in the aim of guiding enterprises to make good preparations for post-holiday operations.
The human resource service companies in SIP have carried out a succession of recruitment drives in Henan, Yunnan, Shandong, Shaanxi and other provinces to recruit talents for enterprises in SIP. Of them, Suzhou Botai Human Resources Co Ltd is expected to help introduce about 8,000 people to SIP later this month.
Moreover, based on the policies, SIP authorities and HR service companies have planned a string of free on- and off-line job fairs that will last till the end of March, and many enterprises in SIP have launched occupational training programs for their staff.
