Kendrion, an Amsterdam-headquartered company which offers electromagnetic and mechatronic components and sub-systems for industrial and automotive applications, launched construction on its Asia-Pacific R&D Center and Manufacturing Base in SIP on Nov 21.
Founded in 1859, Kendrion is a global leader in electromagnetic components. It set up a branch in SIP in 2005 to develop, manufacture and market electromechanical components for vehicles, industrial brakes and high-end electromagnets.
The new facility, with a total floor area of about 43,400 square meters, will focus on design, manufacturing and marketing of high-end servo motor brakes, new-generation brakes and circuit breakers and advanced electromagnetic modules. With a total investment of RMB 700 million, it is expected to achieve annual sales of RMB 1 billion after it comes into operation next year.
