The Archaeological Site Park of Caoxieshan included in the list of initiation projects of national archaeological parks

The National Cultural Heritage Administration of China recently announced its latest list of 19 national archaeological parks and 32 initiation projects of national archaeological parks. The Archaeological Site Park of Caoxieshan is on the list as an initiation project. It is the only one in East China’s Jiangsu province that has made the list.

The Archaeological Site Park of Caoxieshan, built based on the Caoxieshan Site, a major historical and cultural site protected at the national level, is located at the south bank of Yangcheng Lake, SIP. With a preserved area of 199,000 square meters and a construction control area of 203,000 square meters, it allows visitors to gain a good knowledge of the prehistoric culture in the region south of the Yangtze River.

The park has recorded more than 12,000 visitors since its opening last year. In addition to the archaeological sites, theme exhibitions and rice field which imitates ancient ones, it hosts various events such as lectures on the Caoxieshan culture and archaeological experience activities, which have attracted more than one million participants online and offline.
