Diverse events were held in SIP around the Chinese Spring Festival, giving the residents wonderful experiences.
Many communities hosted events for residents to write Spring Festival couplets for themselves and others. The residents then put up the couplets on their doors as a token of good wishes for the future.
Shengpu Sub-district hosted a series of events for residents to experience the traditional way of making New Year cakes and learn to make sugar paintings and paper-cuts.
Volunteer photographers visited communities to take family photos for residents.
There were also many parent-child events for parents and their children to tighten their ties during the holiday. In one of the events, the children made lanterns to mark the Year of the Tiger.
Apart from that, the local authorities at different levels gave presents and festival blessings to frontline workers and needy groups.
Many volunteers provided free services such as blood pressure testing, haircut, knife sharpening and shoes mending to the residents.
