The students at SIP Xingwan School got very excited when several of the country’s top badminton stars visited the school on May 8.
The event was a lead-up to the TotalEnergies BWF Sudirman Cup Finals 2023 scheduled in Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre in SIP from May 14 to 21. The event will bring together badminton players, coaches and officials from 16 countries and regions.
Cheers rose when the badminton stars entered the playground. Chen Qiqiu, the head coach for men’s doubles for the Chinese national team, Luo Yigang, the head coach for women’s singles for the Chinese national team, and the world champion winners Shi Yuqi, Wang Zhiyi, Zhou Haodong and He Jiting interacted with the students and taught them badminton skills.
It is learnt that SIP Xingwan School, a nine-year education school, is well-known for its capability of training future football and badminton players. The students have one badminton class each week, and many of them have won medals in various matches.
