After rounds of auditions and reviews, the dance troupe of SIP Jingcheng School recently gained the entry to the 19th Chinese Primary and Middle School Students and Teachers' Spring Festival Gala scheduled from Jan 25 to 28, 2019 at Peking University, Beijing. The pupils will then stage their multi-award-winning dance Dream to Be a Super Kid.
Zou Yang, a music teacher at the school and art director of the troupe, revealed in a recent interview that the performance is based on the true story of one of her students, a girl with poliomyelitis that causes muscle weakness in her right leg.
"Once she told me that music makes her feel like she had super power that enabled her to help others and pursue her dream. I was moved and then, after a period of observation, I found that she not only can take good care of herself but also always gives her friends and classmates a helping hand in their life and study. I think it is her spiritual strength that helps her build up confidence and form a positive attitude toward life," Zou said.
It is learnt that the performance has won a long list of awards in local events and moved numerous audiences.
