SIP opened a new service outlet on June 30 in a move to facilitate talent introduction from overseas to the free trade zone in the area. The service outlet offers one-stop services for overseas high-caliber professionals and their families to obtain the work and residence permits for working and living in the FTZ.

According to a local official, staffers from the Organization Department of CPC SIP Working Committee and Suzhou Public Security Bureau SIP Office work together at the service outlet to handle applications for the permits which used to be issued by two different departments. Generally, the applicants can receive the permits 15 workdays after the submission of their application documents, while it usually took 25 workdays in the past.

It is learnt SIP is taking a lead across East China’s Jiangsu province to pilot the new service mode. Besides, the local authorities have adopted a series of other measures such as enhancing incentives and further simplifying administrative service procedures to accelerate attraction of overseas professionals to SIP.
