The 6th Suzhou Jinji Lake Biennale, themed “Vivid Jiangnan, Charming Suzhou”, opened in SIP on Apr 15, bringing shocking exhibitions to art enthusiasts in Suzhou.

The three theme exhibitions, “We Are Better Off”, “Rainbow: From the World of Bridges” and “The Biennale of the 6th China Youth Sculpture”, are eye-catching.

The “We Are Better Off” exhibition at Suzhou Center comprises three parts with a total of 177 exhibits including sculptures, installations, paintings, manuscripts and multimedia displays created and designed by 38 world-famous artists, designers and art organizations from 16 countries. It is noteworthy that 90% of the works are shown in the country for the first time.

Visitors can enjoy many masterpieces by globally renowned artists, such as the woodcut of “Minos on His Throne” by Auguste Rodin, “General Custer”, a screenprint of Andy Warhol’s “Cowboys and Indians” series, and “Suzhou Gardens” created by Raphael Perez for the event.

Among the exhibits are also the winning works from the Le Cabanon 2.0 design competition held under the cooperation between the biennale’s design team and the Fondation Le Corbusier as a tribute to Le Corbusier, a Swiss-French architect, designer, painter, urban planner, writer and one of the pioneers of what is now regarded as modern architecture.

Visitors also have the chance to enjoy Le Corbusier’s works.
