The 5G-based smart waste bins that have been in use in Feicui Guoji residential quarter in Jiuhua Community in SIP’s Jinji Lake Sub-district for about a month have attracted many “fans”.
The smart system includes one bin for food scraps and three for other wastes which are unrecyclable and harmless. Users can swipe a card, scan the QR code or use face recognition to start the machine.
Incorporating Internet, Internet of Things and big data technologies, the smart waste bins can identify the users and the type of the waste they want to drop off, and weigh the waste.
There are often volunteers serving on site to offer new users help in using the machine.
